Quilts, Quilts, Quilts

I have just got back from the V and A Quilts exhibition.
The Quilts on display date back to 1700 - yes that means all hand stitched.
Featured in this exhibition are quilts created by Tracey Emin, Grayson Perry, Sue Stockwell, Caren Garfen and even the inmates of Wandsworth Prison.
Below is my favourite from the exhibition.... 'Liberty Jack' by Janey Forgan

Below are a few purchases I made from the lovely V and A shop.

David Choe Haitian Girl Print!

I have featured David Choe's work before on my blog. It has come to my attention that Hemway Industries have launched the above print. All proceeds are being donated to benefit the Haitian Relief Effort.

"Personally paying for the cost of the prints, David Choe has requested that all proceeds go to Yele Haiti, a foundation created by Wyclef Jean. This print measures 18″x24″ inches and is a Giclee print on archival paper and costs $300. Limited to 50 editions, the print is hand-signed by David Choe.
The print is available now for pre-sale only but will not ship until February 21, 2010."

Lovely Liberty!

When I was growing up, my Mum, being the creative soul that she is, LOVED Liberty fabric. I didn't see what the fuss was about myself! However tables have turned!! Over the last 6 months I have been scouring ebay for Liberty off cuts to make crafty things! And I am pleased to announce that in Feb 2010 Patch Rogers will be restoring an "important piece of Liberty heritage to the store" this being in the form of an Art and Crafts Department! Yay!

For all you craft geeks Liberty are setting up knitting and sewing workshops, follow the link to find out more!
